Randall Westgren
Randall Westgren is a Professor of Applied Economics and the McQuinn Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership at the University of Missouri. His formal education is in economics and organization theory and he has spent the bulk of his career working on the problems of linking the ends of the food system (farm to fork) in North America and Europe. Institutional and behavioral issues that confound cooperation and goal alignment have brought him to Philosophy, particularly to social ontology and the philosophy of social science. His current interests include evolutionary theory in economics and sociology, the value of reductive explanations in complex formal organizations, and formal models of team formation.
